****************************************************
KIP is pleased that you are visiting our website in search of accurate information about the B-R Regional School System and any upcoming changes regarding  the complete Pre-K-12 Comprehensive Plan. This group was originally formed to provide accurate information regarding the School District.

The group has been criticized of late for being "TOO POLITICAL".  We offer this response:

Unfortunately, education can be political.  Selectman need to be accountable to the entire Town, which includes the School District.  For far too long the Schools have not been considered part of the Town and the Town budget.  This group is also attempting to change that archaic way of thinking.  We make every attempt to remain impartial, while at the same time, the residents in this Town must make every attempt to be informed about their leaders and how their agendas may or may not affect the School District.

This groups' main focus is the education of our kids and providing any information which may affect that education.  Does that make us "political"?...Maybe it does.

We do not force our opinions on others.  We only ask that you be informed citizens.  Although our main focus is education we must realize that the education is funded by the Towns of Bridgewater and Raynham and looking at education in a vacuum is not productive.  KIP needs to be aware of all facets of our Town government, particularly how it affects education, but also how it affects our Town services in general.

We are a group of concerned parents, teachers, administrators, students and citizens of Bridgewater who have come together to secure a common goal..."Providing our children with the best possible education that we can offer and at the same time preserving the integrity and desirability of our town."

We hope that by visiting this site you will get the most accurate and up to date information on the status of the B-R Regional School District and the status of the many building projects underway.

IN A NUTSHELL...The BR Regional School District Comprehensive Building Plan will look like this when all the buildings are complete:

  • Pre-K-2 will be housed in the now current George H. Mitchell Elementary School
  • 3-5 will be housed in the now Williams Middle School (after repairs and renovations that will begin June 2004.
  • 6-8 will be housed in the current regional high school (after repairs)
  • 9-12 will be housed in a new Regional High School slated to begin construction in 2004.
